Vietnamese jerky is thinner and more heavily seasoned than the American kind, and it is meant to be torn and shared rather than eaten as a protein bar. Bach Cuc beef jerky comes in curry, sesame and teriyaki. Beyond beef there is shredded chicken jerky with lime leaves and chili, which is savoury and properly spicy, and dried herring with sesame for something closer to a seafood snack. All of it is dry-cured and keeps at room temperature.
